Thunder Worshiper

I have always loved a really big, scary storm. Even before I was a lifeguard black clouds were the best! Lightening is and forever will be one of the coolest things in the world. We had some pretty awesome storms recently and I always get giddy when I see a nice red dot on the radar... storms are cool until ,my basement floods... or a tree goes through my roof.

Spotted!

Madewell Sandbar Sweater

I usually find these Spotted items just watching TV with my family, boyfriend or on the DVR catching up on my summer shows. I found this one while watching the Food Network.

Just Add Water

I feel like I need a lake with this outfit. I need a lake and a boat. I feel so nautical with stripes and navy. It just seems like a classic pairing.

I'd Rather Be Sleeping In

This had been a short summer, I won't be the first to say that. Even though it has felt short the days have been long. I have been waking up at 4:55 AM at least two times a week and some times I would wake up that time because my body just would wake up and be ready to go. That will change soon though because today is the last day of the summer I have to wake up at that ungodly hour! Whoo hoo! Let me sleep in to 8 AM!

10 Things I Love About Being A Lifeguard

This is just a snapshot of the outfits I wear to the pool. I almost always wear a lifeguard tee that we have designed and some sort of skirt. I love my white cotton skirt because it feels elevated but it is all cotton and super soft and cozy. I love being a lifeguard for the following reasons:

1. I am trained to be a first responder.
That's pretty cool, guys. Like, I help save lives.

2. I get to hang out with some pretty cool people.
Everyone comes from a different background and all the guards I work with have interesting stories so it really never is a dull moment.

3. I get really tan.
One of the perks of being a lifeguard is being in the sun all day long. The downside is the tan lines and possibility for skin cancer down the road.

4. I can swim whenever I want (during open hours that is).
Pool at my fingertips. Kinda like having a really clean lake in your own backyard only no skinny dipping please.

5. If you don't love thunderstorms now, you will learn to love them.
I have always loved scary thunderstorms but when you work at a pool as soon as you hear any sort of sound that even resembles thunder you get excited and point to the sky.

6. Watching kids play is really entertaining.
Kids these days either have really bad imaginations or great ones! Some of the games kids come up with are brilliant and Parker Brothers need to get on that.
7. I have broken every pool rule and I know why we have them.
I have seen why rules are rules at the pool with the amount of lifeguard blood I have seen and cleaned. We know why the rules are the rules. Next time you are a pool please follow the rules. The rules are there for your safety because someone did it before and got hurt.
8.We make awesome tees.
We love our Bro-tanks and all of the apparel because we wear everyday all summer long.
9. On work days, I get to hang out outside.
I see my friends on Facebook complaining about wanting to be outside on glorious days and I'm on the pool deck sweating thinking "ya, it sure i hot out."
10. I love to call adult swim.
After yelling at kids to walk, stop hanging on the lane line, no chicken, please jump off the diving board facing forward and other things adult swim is the best 10 peaceful minutes of the hour.
