On day two of our Girls Weekend we did a little wine tasting. We went to the Old Mission Peninsula and we were able to go to 6 vineyards! This was the first time we all went wine tasting. It was a great experience! Every vineyard had its own style and personality. Some were huge and others small but they all had delicious white wine. I love white wines and learned on a tour that the climate in Michigan is perfect to make delicious white wines.
The first vineyard had gorgeous barrels and a rustic red barn.
The second vineyard had an old school house and almost all the wine was named after school events like Detention and Homework. This will be the only time I will ever say I really liked Homework.
The third vineyard had a gorgeous view! My friends and I couldn't resist taking pictures of the scenery.
The forth winery had the beautiful barrels right in the tasting room. Here I tried Ice Wine for the first time and it was delicious!
The fifth vineyard again had a beautiful view and a great selection of wine both whites and reds.
The final vineyard was so cute and they had a selection of wine named after the beloved dogs of the winery. As you can see the entryway was decorated with vines growing around on the lattice. While we were tasting I looked up and saw that grapes were actually growing on the lattice! They were so beautiful!
This weekend was much needed and a great way for all of us to celebrate graduating from college and starting our lives as post-grads.
