Better Bring An Umbrella

We have been getting a lot of rain here in Michigan and it is making an impact at the pool! You can't go anywhere without an umbrella! I asked Eric to take a few photos before we went out one night and he loves to take random pictures while I'm figuring out what pose I want to do next. Silly, I know, but it is just one of those silly things that makes me giggle.

Eric caught me taking off my cat to show you the sleeves of this top.

What's Old Is New Again

I have been going through some of my old clothes and I found these awesome shorts from American Eagle that I got a long time ago! Way before colored bottoms were even cool! I am really happy I have kept them all these years because I am kinda digging the Bermuda short length.

Summertime, And the Living is Easy

I don't change up my hair style very much so when I even put a head band in its a huge change! I think with my hair I really have to not care about how it looks in order walk out the door with a hairstyle change. I really want to find more hairstyles that work with my curly short hair.
Time to start Pinteresting!

Save vs. Splurge

Save: Target / Splurge: Piperlime

Story time:
Over spring break I went to Target almost every day.
One of my finds I bought over break were the "save" shoes.
I saw them and loved them and told my mom "these look expensive, I bet we will see a very similar style of shoe soon." She said yes keep an eye out for it.
I was expecting someone to make a similar style but not an exact style!
I bet the splurge shoe is a better quality but sometimes price sways me more than the name.

Momentum Deferred

Finally back in Michigan!
Summer has finally begun for me! Time to relax a little, work at the pool, get a tan and eventually plan out my life once September rolls around.
Now, since summer has started and I'll be working more I will be doing some fun things but I won't have time to sit around and work on my blog so I'm just letting you know that there will be outfit posts sporadically but with limited writing. My goal is to have at least 4 outfit posts every week. I haven't been having much luck finding more Spend vs Splurge items but I think I may bring back Need Want Lust posts.
Anyways, this may be one of my last "lots-o-writing" posts for the summer but we will see!
This past week has been a whirlwind getting back to the groove of living at home and unpacking. It's been so busy I took these pictures a little later in the day so the lighting isn't all that great but I got the pictures!

Road Trip: Day Two

It's been awhile since I blogged but I have been trying my hardest to take pictures of outfits everyday. So I wore this skirt and tee on Tuesday when we were driving through Iowa, Illinois, Indiana and Michigan. I had planned a camo print jacket but it was in the 90's while driving home! There was no need for a coat.
We stopped at the World's Largest Truck Stop in Iowa for a quick place to eat and relieve ourselves before heading out again.
I am really bummed that 3 signs were above the interstate and there was no way I could stand by the signs to get a picture with each state sign.

Once I got back home in Michigan, there was a beautiful rainbow welcoming me home.

Plain Sailing

Wyoming, Nebraska, Iowa, Illinois, Indiana then Michigan.
We made it to Lincoln, Nebraska yesterday and we are hoping we can make it home for late dinner today. We just cruise through the flyover states (plain sailing, like the Great Plains, get it? ha! I thought it was funny).
Wyoming has tumble weeds, Nebraska has a whole lotta corn and Iowa has cows so there isn't a whole lot to look at on this part of the drive. Once we get to Illinois we will hit city traffic again, then the Indiana toll way and then Michigan pot holes.
On our drive back home we pass by Ann Arbor, home of the University of Michigan. I know a lot of people who went there and would go home many weekends during the semester. Some for laundry (understandable) and others because they were too far away from home. Ann Arbor to me means I am almost home! It symbolizes the home stretch driving back! I get so excited once we see Ann Arbor because my back is killing me and I hate the inside of my car at that point.

The Miles Ahead

1,280 miles.
That's what lies ahead.
1,280 miles from Laramie to Royal Oak.
I'm ready to take on these miles and get home to Michigan.

Degree in Hand and Ready to Go

I did it!
I walked across that stage and got my "degree."
If you don't know, your degree isn't in the folder they hand you. You get it about a month or two after graduation in the mail.
But I did it!
Undergrad is over!
After I walked, my mom wanted me to basically go everywhere on campus to take pictures. I made her snap a few on my camera because she typically never shares her pictures with me and I wanted to share with you guys a happy moment in my life.
Onto what I wore: I cannot walk in heels so I opted for mustard flats to go with my navy lace dress and mustard sweater. Plus the mustard goes (kinda) with my robes.

Both my Dad and I are alumni now.
