A Blast From the Past

It's kind of a funny story: for months I have been looking for a short black pencil skirt. I love the versatility and how classic the look is. I also enjoy how easy it is to upgrade any top and make a business casual outfit with ease.

While I was home over Christmas break I was looking through my drawers and discovered this jersey knit stretch skirt that I bought at Target forever ago!
My past self had good taste it.
Thanks Erica from 2007, good call.

P.S. Look at the curves this skirt is giving me!

Polyvore and Pinterest

This year I started Pinterest. I became obsessed with looking at the fashion and crafts on Pinterest. While looking I came across Polyvore, a website where you can create outfits. I love pinning and clipping things from my favorite online shopping cites then creating outfits from the clipped items.
Since I have a Shopping Addiction, Polyvore takes the drive of shopping away because I can still make cute outfits but without hurting my bank account.

You can see my pins here and my Polyvore account here!

Wind Farm

Wyoming should be named the Windy State. The past couple of nights have been howling from the wind and the shingles on the roof flapping around. When this weather gets even worse there is no point in fixing your hair in the morning. When I had my short little cut it didnt matter but now that my hair is getting longer it's becoming more of a pain.

And it's Thursday so it's Swimsuit Spanx Day again!

Pink Lady

Alright, we are going to play it like Chris Noland Memento style and see the end first. I am wearing my pink sweater. So the story goes: last night I had a panic attack. I could not find my pink sweater anywhere! I tor apart my sweater drawer, looked in the dirty laundry pile and I even went to the the lost and found at my apartments laundry facilities...gross.

I came back to my room all sad and ready to go looking for another pink sweater at my favorite online stores when I happened to open the wrong drawer to put my sweaters back.
There it was, my favorite pink sweater.
Sigh of relief.
Life was good again, all because of a pink sweater.

Swimsuit Spanx

I got a new job last week. I am a lifeguard at the gym on campus. The hours I work are between classes so I have to run from class to work to class with no time in between to change. Since I like to look cute everyday this leads to some interesting outfit choices.
Going to class in a swumsuit makes me feel like I am wearing Spanx. Trust me people I am not wearing Spanx, it's just a swimsuit...or are they the same thing?

Wine on Monday

It's Monday. For those of you who have job or go to school we all dread Monday. Mondays mean wine at dinner. I use it as motivation for the rest of week because my second glass isn't until Friday after my last class at noon. Mondays also mean dressing up and looking nice to go observe and this is outfit numero uno. I love this top and I cannot wait to wear it more! The off-white color basically means it's versatile with everything in my closet.
There isn't a better way to start the week than with an adorable outfit...and a glass of wine.

Penguins

The cold weather is here and I think it is to stay. Since penguins like the cold I did a little family on my nails with the blue ice around them.

Blue Coffee Mug, You're My Friend

Last weekend Red Solo Cup was my friend but now my Blue Coffee Mug is my best friend. With school in the real swing of things and a new job, my precious time is ticking away.

But in the chaos I still managed to pull together a sweet outfit.

I want to say an early I'm sorry that posts will be few and far in between but thank you for your patience.

Golden Triangle

I saw this design on Pinterest awhile ago and I fell in love with it. I thought that it would be appropriate for the Golden Globes that were last night and I also thought it looked easy and beautiful. It is beautiful, easy not so much. The tape was hard to control and the spacing I failed at.Whatever I love it and that is that.

Winter?

So, everywhere I have gone during the "winter" months there has been no snow. Well. mother nature answered my call last night. And I mean she answered it with wind and freezing temperatures.

Now we will see if the snow stays very long.

First Day Back

Some of my strongest memories are those of my first day of school. My mom would always take a picture of me and my first dog, Pebbles, by our big tree in our front yard. Since I went to a Catholic school my whole academic career, I was always in a button down blouse and plaid skirt. The only thing that changes in those first day of school pictures is my height, hair style and the plaid of the skirt.
Ever since I escaped the dress code, I have treated my clothing with respect. I appreciate how unique and individualized I can be daily. Once I came to college my mother made me promise her that I would never wear sweatpants to class, and I did. The closet I come to sweatpants are leggings that are style appropriately.

Dita Von Teese Me

Dita Von Teese has upped the classic red mani and made the reverse french a popular but interesting choice for red carpet manicures. This look can be easily done by following my tutorial here!

P.S. Excuse the unsightly cuticles, my skin take awhile to acclimate to the dryness in Laramie.

Item Debut: Cobalt Blue Pants

I am back in Laradise in wonderful Wyoming! But before I left I was able to one wear of my new treasure; my cobalt blue pants. I have been eyeballing these pants since I bought the red ones which was in August. Patience also won on this purchase too because I got them on sale and with a gift card so they were basically free when I bought them.

I added even more attention to my ensemble by pairing it with my bold pattern sweater. I love these pants and I cannot wait to get more wear out of them! This one the last outfit I wore in my home of Michigan. It was strange to wear such bright pants with no snow on the ground...maybe global warming really does exist?

Anywho, school starts tomorrow and I am not ready to go back. Yes I am happy to see my friends and be away from the hustle and bustel of suburbian life but I am not ready for the stress of school. I want to wish a big good luck to everyone starting school tomorrow or I hope those who started school early had a great first day!

Resolutions

Every year at this time, gym memberships soar, organization supplies cannot be found at the store and people start planning that trip they finally are going on. For me though, I don't set resolutions. I set goals (that are usually unattainable).

Most of my goals involve grades at school, working out and daily calorie consumption. I typically will think that I can work out everyday for hours on end, but who has that kind of time? Also, cutting all carbs and fats out are a terrible idea as well I have learned.

This year, like many in the past and like many others have made, I plan on changing my lifestyle. I want to go all "Biggest Loser" and change the way I think about and eat food which is my greatest weakness when many stresses happen during the school year. Since many "in" styles for fashion are geared toward smaller people, my motivation is fitting into the trends... plus I want to look good when end of the world happens.

Orange Ya Happy!

With all the spring-like weather I wanted to wear a bright color. It may look stupid but I love the combination of colors with the scarf. It brings a fall feel to the outfit.

I am starting to pack to go back to Wyoming and it is becoming a hassle. I bought and received so many new items to add to my closet that it is making my bags almost bust at the seams! I just hope I don't go over the 50lb limit!

Also, heads up, the next few days of outfits will be simple and comfy seeing as I am doing laundry and packing then spending all day at an airport.

Into the New Year

Happy New Years everyone! This year my boyfriend, some of his friends and I went out to a friends for dirnks and games. One game we played, Shots and Ladders, I got for my birthday. I already knew it would be a good game but I didn't realize how fun and how much drink we would go through while playing. But it has been good so far in 2012. I mean, look at this outfit I got to wear while ringing in the new year!

Not only did I get to wear this adorable leopard print sweater that Santa brought but I also got to wear my faux leather jeans for the first time! Some said they looked uncomfortable but they are made out of the same material that normal jeans are made from and they were great for sitting on the floor and traveling from party to party.

The only thing that would make this New Years better would have been a little snow on the ground. It has been flurrying in Michigan for awhile and the lack of snow put the kupush on snowboarding and skiing plans, sad. But I know there will be snow eventually in my future,
and I know I will get sick of it once I am back in Wyoming.
